Yeah, you see it right DV! It's from THE NEXT WEB! and it was sent to me! :p wahhahaha

And inside I got 5 Bloggable stickers and a piece of not, saying that I am no the proud new of 5 brand new and authentic TNW Blogable stiers!! The note is pretty interesting with certain things that I should do after I got these stickers >_<

One of the stickers have already stuck on my laptop (office) and another one soon (home) too bad it is too big for my phone! Anyway need to use it wisely because it took a very long time to get these.

Nutrition what?

Is it common to look at nutrition facts of product before buying it? Do you do that? And have you noticed that how many products in a store's shelves have enclosed with a note of NUTRITION FACTS? And for those that attached with nutrition facts note, how many of them are 100% true? I know for sure there are some institutions out there who are controlling this, but how effective is it? Of course and I believe there are businesses out there (the non-standard ones) who would likely to cheat by putting some makeups to their products' nutrition facts to make them look better than competitors' products, so that they can compete in the market and earn more.

Here on my first time visit to Crater Lake National Park, I wanted to leave with an image that I could look back on and remember the experience. I was with a friend taking pictures also, and before I took the picture, I called over to him and said, "Hey man, watch this!" With a laugh, I spread my arms out and fell backwards into the snow. A second later, the camera timer clicked the shutter and the long exposure began. After the shutter clicked back closed, I stayed on the ground for a good while staring up mesmerized by all the sparkling stars overhead.

I brought my brother motor's to pump the back tire, after the guy done pumping it I asked him how much and he replied "tt's 300 riels" then I started to pull out 500 riels note and he continued "500 riels will do". I said " HUH?! What" he replied "the weather is so damn hot... So 500 riels would be better..."

He left me speechless and I just gave him 500 riels and left with a laughter inside my stomach.. So folks, lesson here is:

English Upside Down?

New language?? Come one... I wonder what was Facebook thinking and why they came up with such an idea!! Doubt how many people will use this.... Ridiculous!

Romanization of Khmer in concern

Nowadays, using romanize in communication is very common for Cambodian people. The communication comes in many different forms such as: chat (Gtalk, Yahoo, Skype...), online community (blog, Facebook, Twitter), SMS, email, etc. Recently it seems to be a boom in number of users who like to use romanize, I'm not sure if you have noticed but I do. Yeah I agree that using it is very easy and fun which English can give you that. I myself also used it sometimes even though I try to tell myself not to use it.

On the other hand, why don't we use a real Khmer language when we want to express ourselves in Khmer? Here comes to the availability of Khmer Unicode; but some people would claim that they do not have it installed in their computers or mobile devices. If that is the case then why not using a proper romanization of Khmer? Another excuse would be "it is hard to learn and not comfortable to use". However, have you ever thought that one day Khmer (ខ្មែរ) writing will no longer popular or used by people? They will only use another alien writing - a writing with no proper standard - "but who cares! It is easy for me and my friend", the user may says (khnom min kvol! oy ta srol tov ban houy!)

What do you think about this? Will you think like them too or you want to do something to prevent such thing from happening? We may not know real consequences from the acts, but it is always best to prevent in advance. Khmer is a wonderful language which inherited from our ancestors so why not us as a younger generation conserve it well and make use if it in the correct way!

If you agreed (more or less) with all the things I have said above, so it is time for us to act right!

Use Khmer Unicode (or Khmer other inputs) always when we want to write something in Khmer else use English words to express!

I believe it is hard to SHIFT + DELETE 100% of our habits, but if we try to reduce it from time to time, surely one day it will totally gone...

I got this from a friend.... I don't really like the first 2/3 of the story but I do like the very last part of it. You may wonder why I post the title below here instead of having it in the title area..... Well, because I don't prefer that title, I want it to be something differ but I can't because this is an original work.

Anyway, here goes the story.....

Life & Love

My husband is S/W Engineer by profession, I love him for his steady nature and I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders.

Two years of courtship and now, five years into marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it. The reasons of me loving him before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restlessness.

I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feelings. I yearn for the romantic moments, like a little girl yearning for candy. My husband is my complete opposite; his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about LOVE.

One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision, that I wanted a divorce.

"Why?" he asked, shocked.

"I am tired. There are no reasons for everything in the world!" I answered.

He kept silent the whole night, seemingly in deep thought. My feeling of disappointment only increased. Here was a man who was not able to even express his predicament, so what else could I expect from him?

And finally he asked me: "What can I do to change your mind?"

Somebody said it right... It's hard to change a person's personality, and I guess, I have started losing faith in him.

Looking deep into his eyes I slowly answered: "Here is the question. If you can answer and convince my heart, I will change my mind.

Let's say, I want a flower located on the face of a mountain cliff, and we both are sure that picking the flower will cause your death. Will you do it for me?"

He said: "I will give you your answer tomorrow.... " My hopes just sank by listening to his response.

I woke up the next morning to find him gone, and saw a piece of paper with his scratchy handwriting underneath a milk glass, on the dining table near the front door, that goes....

My dear, "I would not pick that flower for you, but....please allow me to explain the reasons further.....

This first line was already breaking my heart. I continued reading.

"When you use the computer you always mess up the Software programs, and you cry in front of the screen. I have to save my fingers so that I can help to restore the programs.

You always leave the house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for you.

You love traveling but always lose your way in a new city. I have to save my eyes to show you the way.

You always have the cramps whenever your "good friend" approaches every month. I have to save my palms so that I can calm the cramps in your tummy.

You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will be infected by infantile autism. I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes and stories to cure your boredom.

You always stare at the computer, and that will do nothing good for your eyes. I have to save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help to clip your nails and help to remove those annoying white hairs. So I can also hold your hand while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful sand...and tell you the colour of flowers, just like the colour of the glow on your young face...

Thus, my dear, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do... I could not pick that flower yet, and die ... "

My tears fell on the letter, and blurred the ink of his handwriting. .. and as I continue on reading... "Now, that you have finished reading my answer, and if you are satisfied, please open the front door for I am standing outside bringing your favorite bread and fresh milk...

I rushed to pull open the door, and saw his anxious face, clutching tightly with his hands, the milk bottle and loaf of bread....Now I am very sure that no one will ever love me as much as he does, and I have decided to leave the flower alone...

That's LIFE, and LOVE. When one is surrounded by love, the feeling of excitement fades away, and one tends to ignore the true love that lies in between the peace and dullness. Love shows up in all forms; even in very small and cheeky forms. It has never been a model. It could be the dullest and most boring form ... Flowers, and romantic moments are only used and appear on the surface of the relationship. Under all this, the pillar of true love stands... AND THAT'S LIFE

After a while having involved with this organization, I have got inspired from it more and more. I really envy how people there work - a real work from their hearts and how the organization's process has helped disadvantage children and youth in Cambodia. By providing 9,000 meals per day and supporting more than 6,000 children to get a vocational training - really impressive!

This organization is different from others because it is not solely depend on main donors, instead it deals directly with individual and organizations to get fund. A donation starts from 6$ which worth a child book for a year and a donation of $26 worth a month meal for a children. I never knew that such small amounts worth that much!

Pour un Sourire d’Enfants is an NGO in Cambodia working to support disadvantaged children and youth. Currently PSE supports more than 6,000 children through various activities focusing on basic education and vocational training alike. The NGO runs 8 schools in Cambodia, including a Hotel and Restaurant School that educates students in service skills, food and beverage management and other hospitality related subjects, skills that can be widely used in Cambodia.

PSE started in 1995, on the day we saw children eating in the filth of the dump-site in Stung Meanchey in Phnom-Penh in Cambodia. It was appalling. Having seen that, it was not possible to continue to live normally. Something had to be done, Source PSE

Currently, PSE is organizing a charity party which will be held on 1st and 2nd April. All the revenue from this ticket and the whole even will go to the charity fund and support all the children. Another human life saving

My company sponsors another giant concert during this Water Festival. And again I have to involve in such event... Well I was too busy with work + hanging with friends and didn’t get to update about my 1st day of work at Water Festival celebration. But here I come updating about my unforgettable 2nd day of Water Festival 2010.

21st November 2010, Viel Men garden
......I was busy snapping pictures around the stage of the concert as usual - then I turned back and saw a crowd near the stage area where our team seated. I wondered was going on, then I saw a lady laying down unconscious on the grass with her husband sitting nearby crying his heart out calling for help from others. People around try to massage and make some air as much as they could. I jumped in and joined them, trying to apply what I have learned from my very long ago first aid class. I tried to feel her breath – but I couldn’t feel anything (maybe I was too panic), I tried hard to check if she still alive and then found out that her eyes were still opened.

Immediately, I shouted to her ear – “try to breathe as hard as you could and never ever ever close your eyes, your husband is here and you can’t just leave him like this”. She was in a very bad condition, what I did was to give her heart a pushing practice. I didn’t know if I did it right, I really didn’t know what was the best way to do it, I knew that I had to do whatever it takes to make the lady’s eyes open. Others also try to massage here and there and hope for a better her.

Then at a point, her condition got worst! She chocked herself for the air (ដកចង្ការមាន់) like she was taking her last breath by bringing her whole body up from the ground – then failed back without ANY MOVEMENT with her eyes closed!! I was scared to death! I scared that she would never open her eyes again. I thought that she was already gone! Again I pushed her chest – shouted at her ear as well shouted at others to get help the soonest possible.

Thanks God, her eyes was opened once again, with a bit of blinking at least it gave me a sign that she still here with us. Then came the rescuers, there where I moved myself away from her and brought her out from the area concert area. I didn’t know what happened after that. I didn’t know if she could make it, but I really wish and hope that she made it through.

I was very thankful that she didn’t lose herself while we were saving her, because I was the nearer person to her, I held her hand, looked at her eyes and face from time to time. I can’t imagine what would happen or how I would feel if she lost the fight – the fight where I was there and saw the whole scene.

This is the second time which I have experience such a life saving situation. My first time was at Kbal Chay waterfall when I went on a trip with my CSAM family and a girl fainted in the water. Me and Dana were the one who practice the first aid. But this time it was different… I was alone and the lady was so in a damn serious condition!

To the lady, I hope you are doing ok! I really pray for you.
I could say that she was lucky, because she was sitting at the very front before she fainted. It was easy for others to bring her out from the crowd and place her at a bigger space at our area working area. I can’t picture if she happened to sit in the middle of the crowd – thousands of people.

After that happened, I threw my eyes to a very huge crowd from time to time and asked myself that “if again something happen, or someone inside there is fainted – then what to do? How can we help them? And how are they going to survive with such a condition?”

Below You can SEE how huge was the crowd! I wish I had a wide angle lens so that I could get a wider view for this....

Lately, I have been obsessed with galaxy thingy (kind of). I found it to be very interesting, amazing yet awesome.! Being an astronomer is very cool! feel that there are a to learn, to know, to explore with this no-border space, stars, planets and galaxies. And my attend for today goes to Milky Way (with some description attached below) which I really really wish (and pray hard) to witness it myself. My friend once told me that he used to see it and how awesome it was. Will I be able to experience this? I doubt how and when >_<

A long the way home I dropped by Nosh bar to check out this photography exhibition, didn't get to check every detail as I was alone looking at those photos while other guests of the bar were sitting-staring... All you have to do is collect the clothes, shoes and books that has become useless, slap on a price tag, put the stuff into your car’s trunk, drive to a well-populated place, pop the trunk and the sale has begun. In no time your trash will turn into cash.

Tennis

Tennis is the most enjoyable outdoor exercise known to humanity. That’s a fact. What’s better is that it can be played by people of all ages and athletic ability, and it has the same stress-relieving result for everyone. If everyone played, the world would be a more peaceful place, as the collective anger of the Earth’s population would be taken out on furry rubber balls rather than each other. And don’t forget the calming effect brought on by that amazing sound of the ball hitting the sweet spot of your racquet. The sport is becoming more popular in the Kingdom, but there is still a pitiful number of places to play. The best place to get your swing on is Olympic stadium, where you can play for $2 an hour. Go early in the morning to make sure you get a court.

Say NO to [shift + delete]

Using my brother's laptop and wanted to delete my folder before handing it back to him, who knew that I was mistakenly deleted the whole MY DOCUMENT folder! It freaked me out as all my brother's documents are there... But lucky, thanks to Windows 7, the whole folder did not completed shift + delete but only hide for a view <> what a relief after a short while of shocking.

Lesson learned for today (a few more from pass experience) I will not use shift + delete anymore! Ever! I said it and I meant it!

Holiday - Phcum Ben

1:50AM, Friday morning, 8th of October, I opened my blog, clicked on the New Post button with a plan of writing about my holiday and tomorrow plan. Just after clicking then I realized that I had to wake my mom up so that she can listen to ទំនួញប្រែត on radio. Not that I could closed my ears and yes the song went well into my both ears. This was not the first time for me to listen to this, but it was the first time that I heard it in a full version - a version which made my throat stuck and caused my airway blocked. The song itself was very sad, heartrending and tearing-jerking. I really envy the composer who brought out with such a piece which can touch people's hearts. A round of applause to Mr. Pich Sokha, the composer and may you RIP.

I am not blogging emotionally, am I? Well, this was not a plan though, my plan was to talk about my holiday and tomorrow plan. Well, let me get to the point then; my holiday started on the 6th and will be ended on the 11th of October - with a total of 6 days. Firstly, it started with a very tiring day as I needed to help my sister out at her shop because all of her workers have gone back to their hometown. How tiring it was? It was ~~damn~~ super tiring! Well, well, after all it didn't matter though as we (my whole family) had a pretty good time at the evening, having suki soup at MK.

Secondly, would be a plan for ~~tomorrow~~ today, we are going to Takeo province to visit our family's friends. We plan to drop by pagodas along the way, and of course we are looking forward to finding pagodas which do not many visitors and indeed in need for our prayers. Only one van will be brought for tomorrow trip, but we're still not sure how well 13 people will fit into a van. Let's wait and see.

Lastly, Saturday and Sunday plans are not confirmed yet. My SHS gang may have a gather (which I do not know it will possibly take place or not) and yeah my Karaoke plan which was canceled today (as well I have no idea when and how it will resume back).
